As the weather begins to turn I am starting to be re- inspired by spring. I am excited to see the colors and smell the fresh air and I’m waiting patiently or impatiently for warmer weather!
I always attempt to start anew in spring and think about ways to continue my own personal growth. I do the same when I work with my students. This year we will be painting flower pots and planting sunflowers and salsa ingredients.
I always attempt to help my students recognize that during spring, it is a chance to start fresh. I ask them to ponder ways that they have grown over the school year and think about the mistakes they might have made and ways to renew themselves to better all. Often we meditate on this topic and take the time to discuss and create drawings that reflect personal growth and change.
Take some time this spring to identify ways that you have grown and changed. Did you learn something new about yourself or someone you love? Did you learn something new about your neighborhood or discover some art that you really love? Enjoy the colors and smells of spring and get outside and share some new experiences.
Wishing you well as we approach this new season,
